Making text appear the same view for Laptop and Desktop

Been working on a page and the problem is that I want to add banners to the sides of the text.....It will let me, but it appears different on a laptop compared to a desktop.  Is there some type of settings that I can set so that it will appear the same on both laptops and desktops?   More text runs across on the laptop and less on the desktop,  is there a way to set the aspect ratio the same for both

The issue can be complex. Could you post the URL of your forum and tell us what the "It" is that "will let me".
