Is it possible to have a subforum not show in topics view

I have an interesting question.  My forum members want my daily news feed fed into my forum, but I would like for it to not show in the topics view, but only in the subforum...  

I post a lot of news daily and it overwhelms the topics view of my forum, which makes it harder to find the individual forum discussions..  Is this even possible?

Any suggestions ?

Providing you post your news to a dedicated sub-forum, I am sure it is possible with a small tweak to the NAML code in the "view_topics_page" macro to add a condition that prevents items in the news sub-forum from being displayed.
