Invite Subscriber Bug?

GregChapman
Hi Hugo,

I have a sub-forum, "News", embedded at:
http://www.muddybroadbluesband.co.uk/contact.html
The forum has the Invite Subscribers module installed.

I have just done a test subscription and found that the long subscribe confirmation link in the subscription email takes me to the home page of the main site, not the "Contact" page. This means the user does not see the message confirming that the subscription is completed.

I know that things work when a forum is not embedded in the home page of a site and wonder if this bug is caused because on this site I have a second page where the forum root is embedded, rather than the "News" sub-forum.

When I insert the "/contact.html" that I would expect to see in the of the subscription link URL, the page successfully display revealing that "You are already subscribed to News."

Incidentally, I have also just discovered that the shorter link:
http://band-forum.2320619.n4.nabble.com/News-f817.html
in the invitation email also takes me to the home page of the main site and not either of the two pages where the forum is embedded. (The second page is deliberately not linked from anywhere on the site and is intended for use by the "Members" group only.)

(A further minor niggle: Recently the colours in my signature on this forum have gone missing. The red colours show on the preview on the edit signature page, but no longer show in the main body of the forum itself. )

I checked your forum and the embedding URLs were inverted: the root forum was pointing to the contact page and the news sub-forum was pointing to the domain name. I fixed the issue and now it seems to work fine. Please take a second look and let me know if you still see issues.

Thanks Hugo. That seems to have fixed it.

No idea that happened! All had seemed to be working well until I tested the Invite Subscriber Screen.

Incidentally the screens related to subscribing perform poorly on my phone. In some cases you lose the important links at the top right.

No it hasn't!

Or at least it causes a different problem that I will encounter far more often.

However, having dug around a bit I found more conflicting redirections. I have also decided to tackle things a different way which means there will no longer be different re-directs for different pages and just a simple link to allow fans to reach the pages needed to subscribe and unsubscribe from the "News" mail list.

Thanks, anyway! It prompted me to make what I hope will be a more sensible solution.
