Invitation from flag to login fails to present login dialogue

When clicking on a flag,

Clicking OK does not lead to a login dialogue.

Using Safari 3.1.2 (5525.20.1) on Mac OS X 10.5.4.

Now using the same versions of Safari and Mac OS X, I can not reproduce the symptom.
