I've sent the mail to the libav-users mailing list and have received the message that my post is still pending.
The link to the post is http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/Remuxing-single-MPEG-2-TS-to-multiple-outputs-MPEG2-PS-tp3525959p3525959.html However, my mail is appeared in the original mailing list archive. Here is the link: http://ffmpeg.org/pipermail/libav-user/2011-May/000142.html Please, could you fix this problem asap? Thanks. |
Did you register on the mailing list?

Yes, of course, I'm registered.
I emphasise once more, that the mailing list has accepted my message and shows it in its archives. Probably, the error reason is that mailling list address has changed. |
Yes, it's probably that. The archive is probably pointing to the older address.

So, please, could you look into it and fix the problem?
Nabble provides very convenient service, and I'd like to keep using it. |
The owner of the archive should update it.

How can I know the owner?
I vaguely remember, but it looks to me that the owner is myself. :) Then, if I own that archive, how can I update it? I clicked in various links on the main archive page (http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/) but couldn't find any option to change subscription email. Indeen, Nabble works with libav-user@mplayerhq.hu but the mailing list is currently on libav-user@ffmpeg.org |
"My Nabble applications" link in my personal settings shows libav-users.
Does it mean that I own this archive? |
Yes! You can also tell that you're the owner because on the home page of the archive at: http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/ It tells you who created it - and it's you! When you said: Are you sure that you aren't confusing "registration" on the web-based archive, with "subscription" to the mail list? Did you send your earlier messages by mail, but your pending one via Nabble? There is more information about this on the link at the top of your archive. It sends you to: http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/mailing_list/MailingListOptions.jtp?forum=943685

Yes, I'm pretty sure, I'm not confusing my registration in Nabble with subscription to the mail list. I understand that these are two different and independent services with different purposes. I very much don't like using my email client for mail lists - that's why I've registered in Nabble and made it to archive mail lists. All my posts to that and other mail lists were made using Nabble. Thanks for pointing to the owner information on the Nabble's pages, I've found it already by myself. It was long time ago since I've created this archive. :)) As for that particular mail list, libav-users, it was initially created by its maintainers on the mplayerhq.hu domain, then recently moved to the ffmpeg.org. All subscriptions were moved also. Unfortunately, I cannot make FFmpeg and libav maintainers to move their mail lists back to the mplayerhq. :) Buttons on Nabble's mail list page ( http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/mailing_list/MailingListOptions.jtp?forum=943685 ) allow me to work only with existing mplayerhq.hu while I need to change that domain to ffmpeg.org I also tried to subscribe again to the mail list at https://lists.ffmpeg.org/mailman/listinfo/libav-user/ I've received the email saying "An attempt was made to subscribe your address to the mailing list libav-user@ffmpeg.org. You are already subscribed to this mailing list." Once more, I need to change settings at Nabble: replace current list's domain name (mplayerhq.hu) with ffmpeg.org. And I don't see any options to do it, neither on Nabble's mail list page ( http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/mailing_list/MailingListOptions.jtp?forum=943685 ) nor anywhere else. |
Several days have passed. Are there any news?
Could anyone give me a hint on how I can change the archive's subscription address? |
Log in the archive as owner, go to Options>Editor>Change mailing list settings.

Finally! Thanks! I did it!
But there seems to be one more problem. How can I check subscription status of this Nabble's archive? Is it still subscribed? There are newer messages in the original archives. Since I haven't found this option in the very beginning, I tried to unsubscribe this archive from the mailing list and was going to subscribe it again to the correct address. I went to Options > Delete and sent a request to mailing list to unsubscribe the address given there (something like nabble+<many numbers>@nabble.com) There was a message on the resulting page, stating that the unsubscription request was sent I should receive a forwarded email to confirm my actions. I didn't reveive any messages, but it seems that the mail collection is not working properly. |
Have you checked your spam folder/filter?

Yes, I have. There were nothing related to this.
Anyway, I haven't completed the unsubscription procedure, and I don't want to have Nabble unsubscribed from this mailing list, I want to keep it collecting mails and sending my mails to the list. However, the latest message in http://libav-users.943685.n4.nabble.com/ is dated with May 19, but original archives (http://ffmpeg.org/pipermail/libav-user/2011-May/date.html) show more recent messages. |
Please try to subscribe the archive again (Options > Editor > Mailing list settings > subscribe instructions). There is no harm in doing this. You should get an email from the mailing list (Nabble will forward it to you) so you can follow the instructions. If you don't get any email, please try to subscribe a dummy email to the mailing list and see if it returns anything. Some times the mailing list server has issues and it is difficult to track what it going on. Another option is that the subscription may be awaiting moderator's approval. So you may have to talk to the mailing list owners.
