I was updating the forum rules topic & suddenly that "[Spam Detector] Message contains common spam words." error popped up... I have no idea which words it meant exactly & I don't want to sit & edit my huge post until the Detector will be pleased. Is there a way to somehow edit some code / macro, so I can update the thing & then turn the Detector on back?
I tried to edit the spam_errors macro but that didn't help. |

I desperately need the ability to turn off the spam detector too!
I have a number of 10,000 word blog posts that all include links to a URL that needs updating. There's no way I can go through that many words trying to work out what the detector thinks is spam - so for the time being the links must remain broken. Grrrr! ![]() This feature must be optional only or there must be some way of excluding words from the detector's word list.

Greg, as I saw it was a some Binary that contains the forbidden words & it's updated by Nabble staff, as I understand. What's wrong is that many words are automatically forbidden once they are listed, even if it was a normal post by a normal member. And making a list of words that should be excluded from the Detector is obviously a headache for both me & Nabble staff if the only way to help is by excluding them from their Binary.
I too agree there should be an option to turn the Detector on/off in Preferences. Or something should be edited, but not sure how - as I tried, the Detector is implemented in Submit post option & editing it in any way only causes errors in NAML. What strange is that I posted a topic months ago without problems, now when I try to delete some word or just post it without any edits - it shows that Spam Error. Hopefully, Pedro will help. |

Greg and 1j1 , please, give your forum urls. I will decrease the spam control strength and see what happens.
It can't be set for each site.
My test forum.

Thanks Pedro.
Have the controls already been reduced? I don't seem to be having the problem any more.

I have the same issue - post that has been in place for a long time - making the tiniest change and it won't let me re-post. Please can you help.
(Would be curious to know what Nabble thinks is spam in the post!) http://online-calligraphy-learning.9492.x6.nabble.com/template/NamlServlet.jtp?edit_post |
