When you click the reply button against any message the screen will change to a message composition window, where you will find a "Quote" button on the toolbar. This will place the whole of the original message between HTML-style <quote > tags. These tags have an author="" attribute that adds the author's name to the quote.
As well as this, you can add simple <quote > tags to wrap round any text and this will place the text in an indented box with a line to the left.
