HELP!

My forum is on my website.  Is there a way to make users register allowing them to post? We don't want just anyone posting.  And if just anyone can post why would anyone ever want to register?

Yes. You can go to Options->Users->Control Anonymous Users, to set the forum to only allow registered users to post.
