Group names are too long...

Is there a way to reduce the length of group names, eg. Authenticated and Administators, perhaps to Auth and Admin?

I can only fit part of the name of one new group in the size I have allocated for my forum when looking at Manage Users and Groups...

You should see a scrollbar at the bottom of that table. So you can scroll and see all columns.
