Error confirming subscription to mailing list

I tried to subscribe to the [e-mail] list from Nabble, and when I replied to the confirmation message I got an error message telling me the request hadn't been processed because the password was missing.

I had to click on the confirmation URL to make it work. Same thing for the "Turn of e-mail delivery", had to login on the list's web management UI to make it work.

Did you register both at the nabble's archive and the mail list at sourceforge?

I registered to this forum on Nabble, and asked it to subscribe me to the corresponding list on sourceforge. Since it took a while to get a reply and I was in a hurry, I tried to subscribe directly in Sourceforge but with a different address, so I don't think it interfered.

That won't work!

You need to subscribe to the list, then register on the Nabble using the SAME address.

When you post via the Nabble site to a mail list hosted elsewhere, Nabble simply forwards your message as if from a conventional mail program from your address. If that address isn't subscribed at the mail list host then it is treated as a non-subscriber by the mail list and rejected.
