Hello, our embedded forum at evanston9thward.org is only displaying a link and not the forum itself. can you help us?
I've updated the embed code with no luck. Thank you. ~Josh |
You have to go to your forum, click on Options, select Embedding Options and copy the new code.
Use it to replace the one you have there now.

I don't understand. This is the (wrong) code there:
Evanston 9th Ward Message Board <script src="http://n2.nabble.com/embed/xxxxxxxx"></script> It is completely different from the code you posted here on your last message (which appears to be the right one). It doesn't really seem to be the code you say you are using at all. Can you please recheck?

From what I can see the code currently pasted to your site looks like this:
<html><a id="nabblelink" href="http://n2.nabble.com/Evanston-9th-Ward-Message-Board-f3714020.html">Evanston 9th Ward Message Board</a> <script src="http://n2.nabble.com/embed/f3714020"></script></html>so you are not doing an accurate copy/paste. Those additional <html>...</html> tags in the middle of your page also suggest that you are not using Joomla's facility for inserting the code correctly. Seeing those tags made me curious so I checked with the W3C validator. It suggests there are 17 HTML validation errors on the page. To help your page appear more reliably on various browsers, you might care to investigate them at some point too. EDIT: Oops! Peter got there first! It's bed time for me! :-)

Hi Greg and Peter,
Thanks for your help. I got the embedding working, although it appears I have the old embed code somewhere as you can still see the message encouraging me to update my code. Any ideas why I can't seem to find that code in the the Message Board section? I appreciate your assistance. Best, Joshua B. No! That's because I would need to know how Joomla works to do this. (I assume your web site is produced with Joomla as there is a line in the code of the message board page that says this is the program that has generated the code.) I'm afraid that you need to turn to Joomla support for this one. What I can say is that I searched for the word "nabblelink" in the code of your page (It's a key part of the code that needs to be pasted into your page to perform the embedding). I found it twice at around line 189 and 224. There's also has a whole load of additional code that shouldn't be there associated with the two instances of the embedding code. How both those code snippets got there can only be explained by someone who knows the Joomla interface and how it works.
