Deleting Posts

Chris Burke
Hi

I want to use nabble as a mirror of our google group. We occasionally get messages that are inappropriate and can remove any such posts in google.

Can we also remove the posts from nabble? Is this something we need to ask nabble administrators to do for us, and if so, what is the typical response time?

Also, what is the difference between "remove" and "delete" on nabble? We really want to remove inappropriate posts completely.

Thanks

Chris

Re: Deleting Posts

Hugo <Nabble>
Yes, you can remove posts from forums (if you are the forum administrator). Just open the post and click on "More > Remove post from forum". For Nabble, "remove" means "to move away". The post doesn't get deleted physically and becomes orphan (it lives on its own and doesn't belong to any forum). Removed posts can still be found under their author's profile page (click on any avatar or user name and you will see the profile of that person). Removed posts will be caught by the garbage collector process if they don't get visits.

Physical deletion exists, but you must be the author of the post to delete it (menu option is "More > Delete post"). If you want to get rid of a spammer, you can ban the user and he/she won't be able to post again. You may contact us if your case can't be handled by these tools.
