Curious what the interest is from the developers.....
to build a conduit between facebook groups to the universal backend in much the sameway that you have built a way to pass messages back and forth between a mailman archive and the forum.
I have an old mailing list that I currently have archived with Nabble. I LOVE the ability for people to be able to interact with the list via the forum format and one MORE way that would be massively beneficial for the group would be to be able to interact with the list via Facebook Groups. I see it working in much the same way that the list archive feature works now: the mailing list would still be the core structure and everything else would sync to it.
I'm not a programmer and have never dug into the facebook APIs so I don't know how difficult something like this would be to pull off, but the more important question is, is there an interest from the developers to see this done? Given the node-like structure of the universal backend it seems like something that would be achievable. Its something that is so attractive to me that if you have any desire to implement it I'm pretty sure we can find a way to finance it.
