Re: Creating a forum for a class

I want a forum that is embedded in my webpage (which I already know is possible with nabble), so that the forum only exists on my website and no where else.  Also because it would only be seen, and used, by students in my class who already have to have a password to get into the class site in the first place I do not want them to have to register with nabble or anyone else to be able to use the forum (I only want to require that they  enter their name on the posts).  Is this possible?
If you use Nabble's embedding option to place your forum within your main site then an additional option appears on the embedding options page in the format:

==============================================
Redirect Users
Your embedded forum is hosted on Nabble at this URL: http://YourForumURL.nabble.com/
( ) Allow users to view this forum without embedding.
( ) Redirect them to: http://YourMainSite.com/ForumPage.html.
==============================================

Choosing the second option means that the forum can only be displayed in its embedded form and if everyone who encounters http://YourMainSite.com/ is obliged to enter their username and password there then the forum will be protected that way. there will be no need to increase the default settings in Nabble to require registration to view or post to your forum.

There's a topic on this issue at:
http://support.nabble.com/Pass-login-credentials-in-URL-or-Static-Values-in-login-page-macro-possible-td7557376.html
If I do have to require that they register with nabble, I would like to know what nabble does with the list of email addresses that they have after people register; I do not want to have my students sign up for a service which is going to compromise their personal privacy or end up selling their emails or spamming them.
Strangely, I can't find any words on that in Nabble's Terms of Use, but I know from practical experience that Nabble is very keen to protect user's email addresses (you'll have already discovered how they "munge" addresses so that they are not revealed to, nor can be used by,  others) and I have never detected any infringement of privacy that I can blame on Nabble.

However, I'm sure that in response to this post they'll explain the how in practical terms they expect to implement this term:
"You grant Nabble a license to republish and sublicense the publication of your content in whole or in part and in any form."
I know it is a lengthy description, but as I said I want to be careful with my students' information.
Lengthy descriptions are always best, if you need a full answer!
