Confused about embedding

acmeinfo
OK, so I'm not the brightest spark about websites, but I have put up quite a few and run some blogs etc. I do html stuff using notepad and generally I can get my head around things when I need to - but I don't do it very often, so forget things etc.

Here's where I need some help please:

I have set up my 'embedded forum' and I can get to it from my PC - have added a couple of posts to get it started.

Now I want to tell my friends about it.

First off - I have no idea if I can use it as is - ie just give out this link: http://[mynewforum].892244.n3.nabble.com/

or if I have to use the code snippet we are given and put it onto one of my websites. Just in case,
I have made up a little html page with the code in it, but where do I put it on my domain? Do I use a subdomain, for example, does it go into the public.html bit - where do I put it and then what's it's address once I have!

Now that may seem a daft question, but I have tried the above and it doesn't show, so I must be doing something wrong.

Any ideas, folks?

Yes, you can give this link to your friends. Even if your forum is embedded, this link will work fine.

Embedding is optional. It is good when you have a website that is related to the forum, but this is not a requirement. This is up to you.

It should work on any HTML page, independently of sub-domain or URL.

As I said, it should work. You can post a link to your page and I can take a look to understand what it going on.
