**Concerns for my Forum being deleted**

Wall3t
Howdy;

ive been looking and doing research on Nabble.com as i dont know anything about what you could provide for me or what it can do to help with my website.

While looking i noticed that some users have had their forums deleted due to lack of activity. I am running a video game website and i need a forum i could embed, but its from an older video game so i dont expect it to be very busy or not at all.

I want to know if this was true? do forums get removed or deleted after a certain period of time/ or days of no activity? and if so what is the time period and what guarantee is their that i could rely on a nabble.com forum for long term use?

The first thing to say is that no Nabble forum gets deleted without warning the administrator by email.

Normally, the reason for the complaints you see on this forum about a deleted forum is because the administrator has not read the warning email perhaps because it gets treated as spam by his mail provider or because he used a temporary address  when setting up the forum which he doesn't read as a matter of course.

The warning email always provides a link to click on that resets the timer and removes the threat to delete the forum, so there is never a good reason for losing a forum.

Further, it is very easy to take a backup at any point (Options > Download backup). Should, by some chance, you ever miss that warning email you can then post the backup here and the forum can be restored.

I am not sure of the exact rule for setting deletion, but I believe it is in the order of ninety days. It is not posting that counts only visits, so all it takes to avoid the threat of deletion is a visit to the forum and any of its sub-forums.
Volunteer Helper - but recommending that users move off the platform!

Just a Volunteer Nabble Helper - because the nice folk at Nabble have helped me!
