Cannot Log Into My Redirected Forum With Chrome or Safari, or...

Gary Lewis
Now that we've been moved to S1 perhaps you can fix the redirect problem?

Most of us cannot log into the forum using Chrome, Safari, or several other browsers if I redirect it.  So far the only browser I'm aware of that works consistently is Firefox.

The forum is embedded, the CNAME is set to S1.nabble.com and the DNS has replicated.  But we cannot use it in the redirected mode.  Please help.

Here is the direct-in URL: https://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/

Here is the embedded URL: http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/

Nabble has low priority for bug fixes. We don't have a specific date to deal with this issue.

I appreciate the response, Israel.  At least you are agreeing there is a bug.  And it has to be one that many of us are suffering with.

Well guys, it may be fixed. You turned https on w/o telling me, and that caused all sorts of problems. But when I realized what you'd done and both changed the embed code on my website as well as enabled https there, then I could log onto the embedded forum. Then I redirected to my website and that works as well.

I'm not 100% sure the problem has been completely fixed, but it appears to be at first blush. However, my ulcers would have been a lot happier if you'd told me that you turned https on so I could make the needed changes.

I'll do some more testing and report back.

As an update, so far no one has said they cannot log in, although some have had to clear out their cache in order to get in.  But I'm not ready to say it is fixed yet as people who might not be able to get in cannot tell me they can't.

Israel - Would you mind telling me what you did to get my embedded site working?  I assumed you enabled https and that did it.  But were there other steps taken then?

I ask because we've been bringing Nabble up on AWS servers for some time and couldn't embed the site and be able to log on with many of the browsers.  So we assumed the problem was https and Pedro has been working to get that enabled.  He was successful today, and we still cannot log in with Chrome and some other browsers.

But if you did something else in order to get it working we'd sure like to know what that was.  If we can get this one last thing fixed I think we'll be able to get off the Nabble servers.

Ok, thanks.  Not what I wanted to hear/see, but ....

Any suggestions on what to check?
