Can members be granted access to all forums on same site?

John Yeoman
This post was updated on .
I have no fewer than nine different Nabble forums at one site. Each contains different information. I would like to be able personally to enrol a member in one forum - using the user name and email they give me when they pay a subscription - so that they have read/post access thereafter to all the forums on my site.

I suspect this has something to do with the setting up of a 'parent' forum, under which I can subsume all my existing forums? So I can set up a new 'Welcome' forum, and enrol my members in that single forum? And it gives them post/read access to all my other existing forums?

Forgive me if this is a Nabble commonplace. But as a newbie I am probably not alone in finding Membership Management at Nabble to be as challenging as medieval hermeneutics (In fact, it's worse. I had no trouble whatsoever in completing a PhD this year in medieval hermeneutics! )

You are right. You can create a parent forum (Options > Structure > Parent options) and then move all forums under it. Note that your sub-forums shouldn't overwrite the "Who can view & post" settings. So you should leave all sub-forums with [everyone, everyone, everyone] (everyone here means everyone that can view/post in the parent forum). So you will be able to control all accesses from the parent forum.

Thanks for the feedback. I know this is not as simple as it could be and we will improve this in the future. We have been working a lot and Nabble has only two programmers (I'm one) and we have to finish the templates and modules features.
