Broken Confirmation Link

Xellarant
This post was updated on .
When registering for my forum, a number of users have reported to me that the automatically generated confirmation link sent to them via e-mail from nabble contains a broken link (404 not found). Considering the fact that the page shown is from my hosting site, and I know that I've previously created/screwed up another nabble forum by screwing just a little too much with the custom domain name and domain forwarding, I'm assuming that the problem actually lies in the fact that the first and second forum might have the same name, and the link, therefore, is sending them to the broken forum. I've since changed the name, but I've noticed that doesn't necessarily change the URL to the forum. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
-Xellarant.

P.S. Link to forum's in signature.

copy of e-mail:

You have changed your domain name configuration to:
http://forum.idlehandz.net

If you have problems with your domain name or simply want to change this configuration again, you can use this link:
http://n4.nabble.com/forum/ChangeDomainName.jtp?site=2307879
---------------------

The first URL is now a forwarded subdomain to my site (which has the new forum embedded).

That's not going to work for someone who is not logged in and with appropriate permissions.

original URL for the site (the name went through several changes afterwards):

http://reviews-faqs.2307879.n4.nabble.com

it, however, just directs to my current forum as of now (somehow), so, long story short, I don't actually know how to access the original forum.

OK, let me see if I got it. You have 2 forums. You have set them both to the same domain. So when you try to access one of them, it loads your site which has the other one embedded so you can't access the first one anymore.
Is that it?

Re: Broken Confirmation Link

that's pretty much correct, yes. The first one had its domain set via the
option available in the forum itself. However, something went wrong to
where i could no longer at all access it at either the new URL or the link
to revert to the old one sent to me by e-mail. It was actuallly only
because of that that I created a second one to replace it. I then used my domain registrar
to establish forwarding for the URL desired rather than dabble with the nabble option again.

Truth be told, I don't care so much about the first forum. I lost a few
posts, but nothing amazingly important. I only mentioned it because I was
thinking that it might be a cause for the broken confirmation link in the
second one.
