Banned users remain on the Forum...

mywaytoo
I have just banned a user and have found that they remain on the Forum as 'Anyone, Authenticated'...

When I'm logged in as Admin:
their email address is displayed
the option to email them is still present
there is an option to 'Unban' them.

When I'm logged in as a Member:
the option to email them is still present.

This user is a spammer, and I don't want my Members to be exposed to the likes of them... or even me, accidently... so I want rid of them altogether, but I suppose it would be handy to keep a list of banned user names to ensure that that user doesn't try to rejoin under that name...

I suppose that I could have a Group of Banned users... but they shouldn't be on the forum yet... see my other post...

Is there anything that I can do to remove them completely???

What happens when you're logged in as a non-member, i.e. you've registered, so appear on the authenticated list, but Admin hasn't accepted you and elevated you to the member group? (The default permissions would also allow you to access them via the "People" listing.)
Volunteer Helper - but recommending that users move off the platform!
Once the admin for GregHelp now deleted.

Greg... I have spent hours pondering over this issue, thinking up reasons why, and possible work-rounds... BUT the thing is this spammer should not be on the forum anyway... I have not responded to the registration email...

THIS IS A BUG... and a pretty fundamental one for a Forum too!

I wish Hugo would comment...

This post was updated on .
Peter... The spammer only just joined. I received the email from Nabble as follows:
date23 June 2011 07:17
subjectAuthorization requested to join knit4dolls Blog and Forum
mailed-byn2.nabble.com

Parts of the email that Nabble sent to me:
tieunguyet requested authorization to join the knit4dolls Blog and Forum:
http://knit4dolls-blog-and-forum.977845.n3.nabble.com/

Explanation from this user
Today the company to build a website for a job so important that can not simply say yes or no to it. Website has become the media and the leading business tool for every business, it brings an undeniable advantage. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX...Lots of rubbish...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

User e-mail
tieunguyetcntt... NOTE FROM ME: gmail.com was given, but you will only allow them to access your email address if you contact them... so don't!

To accept this request, you should add this user to at least one permission group that has access to this area:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX...I'm not totally stupid...XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Or you can ignore this email if this user should not visit this area.

I have not allowed this user to have access!

This email account also received emails from them at 17:20 and 17:21 with loads of rubbish...

NOW another member has joined the forum on 27th June 2011, and is displayed as being 'Anyone, Authenticated'. This one is genuine, but I have not received an email about her... so I guess that she has just logged in without registering... BUT THEN why isn't she Unregistered... ???

PLEASE HELP!

Hugo <Nabble>
We have improved this code and now banned users will not show up on the people page. Please take a look at your forum and let me know if you still have issues.
