Ability to order the posts within a topic by descending date

Is there a way to order the posts within topics by descending date?

I can't believe this is not an option. It is terribly annoying to have to scroll through page after page looking for the latest post when it should be the first thing users see.

The topics seem to be ordered by the latest post across all topics, which is great. Users always see which topics are active and have easy access to the latest information.

The problem is that once they enter the topic they must scroll through pages before getting to that latest post.

I would just like to have the posts within a topic ordered by descending date, so the latest posts are on the first page... very easy option to add, no?

Options > application > change appearance > preferences and select the oprions "Topics" instead of "standard"

This works on the topics - but not the posts within the topic.

Is there a way to have the most recent posts show at the beginning of a topic?
