Images being stored on Froala instead of my site...

Coleen_Astalos
Pedro,
I noticed that images that have been posted via the new editor are disappearing after 1 day.  I noticed that those images are being saved on the froala site instead of our site.

I contacted Froala about whether there was a step we missed in customizing the application.  Here was their response:
Hi Coleen,

Images are stored on i.froala.com only temporary and it should be used only for testing purposes. That is written in the documentation too. There are on our website several articles that you can read bout how to setup image upload:
https://editor.froala.com/concepts/image-upload
https://editor.froala.com/server-integrations/php-image-upload

Stefan Neculai
Co-founder @ Froala.com
Can you please look into this so the images get saved on our site and don't disappear after one day.
Thanks,
Coleen

Any progress on this?  The images disappearing is a major problem for us.

I had noticed that the images and the files were hosted at their servers, that is why this editor works with Nabble. But I didn't know those files would be temporary.
I don't believe it will be possible, but I'm trying work on it.

Thanks, I appreciate it.  If we can't get this to work then we'll have to disable using Froala as that those two features (upload images & upload files) are KEY for us.  If you need me to contact Froala support for anything, let me know.
Thanks,
Coleen

Any progress on this as my members aren't happy about the images they've shared disappearing.

Does the instructions from froala help: https://editor.froala.com/server-integrations/php-image-upload

Coleen, we tried to make the file upload work with Froala, but the two systems are very different and we couldn't find a solution yet.
I'll work on it until Tuesday and give you I final position.

Pedro,
Are you doing this work on your site as I've not seen any signs of changes/attempts on my site.   How is it going?

If you're not able to figured it out, I see two options:
1) Go back to the old editor  :-(
2) Pay $30 more to get the license from Froala that includes 6 months of technical support and get help from them.  I did contact them and their response was:
Froala Support wrote
As I told you in a previous mail, there are some examples on our website which detail how to integrate the image upload / file upload on your own server. We have hundreds of users who used these as a starting point and they integrated the editor successfully.
https://editor.froala.com/concepts/image-upload
https://editor.froala.com/server-integrations/php-image-upload

We can help customers with such issues if they have technical support included. Unfortunately, your license doesn’t include technical support, therefore I cannot assist you unless you upgrade to a license that includes support.
So I guess I need to ultimately know whether you think it's just not possible at all, or whether you've just not been able to figure it out and you think paying $30 for support from them would help.

Thanks,
Coleen

It is not possible. I was working on it and noted that we can't do that now.
The problem is that the sever-side should be changed. In order to make Froala work we would have to change our server-side code and it would affect all Nabble sites.

You don't need to pay their support. I suggest that we come back with the old editor. And if someday we make a new release or we have another idea we can come back with this.

RE: Images being stored on Froala instead of my site...

Coleen_Astalos

Thanks.  There were some things that weren't working right (HTML box settings).  I realized I had a zipped image of the customizations from just before we started the Froala stuff, so I imported it back in.

I appreciate the time you took to try to get this to work and I strongly encourage you to look at going to a WYSIWYG editor on Nabble as a whole as I think it would make your product even better.
