I set up and Admin an email archive for a Google Group Email List that I also Admin. I was able to log in to the Nabble App on 25th December and changed some permissions to try to stop spammers joining the Forum. Nobody needs to join the Nabble App as it is just functioning as an archive.
Today I received an email notification that the Nabble App had a new Registered User, so I tried to Log In to remove the User. However, I am stuck at the Cookies Acceptance Page. Both the Accept and Reject buttons on the page are dead. I have tried this using different browsers with the same result. The only way I could log in to Nabble at all was by logging in here at the Support Forum - using the same Nabble Account that Admins the Email Archive. Even though I am logged in here, if I try to go to my App I get blocked by the Cookie Permissions Page. I hope someone can help or advise me! Best wishes, Lizzie |
Are you using safari and is your forum embedded? Use a different browser and try again. Read the pinned post since there has been a recent update

Hi Haozwang,
The Forum is not embedded. I am trying to access it on the Nabble site directly. I am having the same problem in Safari, Firefox and Opera. I have cleared Cookies in all of them and it makes no difference. The pinned post does not seem to be relevant as it related to embedded forums. (I have amended the post title to reflect that.) Best wishes, Lizzie ps. I had a second email archive Nabble forum using a different account. This second forum was also not embedded. I logged into and accessed the second Forum with no difficulty earlier today. I tried logging into that forum after I had problems with the first one. Just in case I had problems with the second forum as well, I have now deleted it. |
whats the url of the forum(I assume its not the one you deleted)?

Hi Haozwang,
No, it is not the one I deleted :-) The URL is http://ukes4fun-google-group-email-archive.1075308.n5.nabble.com/ Best wishes, Lizzie |

Yes - the UK. I will have another go at logging in now :-)

Drat! Still stuck at that Cookie Permission Page even though I am already logged in to the Support Forum with the same account.
This is the URL: http://ukes4fun-google-group-email-archive.1075308.n5.nabble.com/template/NamlServlet.jtp?macro=cookie_consent_page&nextUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fukes4fun-google-group-email-archive.1075308.n5.nabble.com%2Ftemplate%2FNamlServlet.jtp%3Fmacro%3Dlogin_page%26message%3DYou%2Bmust%2Blogin%2Bto%2Bview%2BUkes4Fun%2BGoogle%2BGroup%2BEmail%2BArchive.%26nextUrl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fukes4fun-google-group-email-archive.1075308.n5.nabble.com%252F This did not happen with the other forum - the one that I deleted. I set that one up with a different Nabble account to the one that I am using here but I was still in the UK :-) |
I think you should sent GregChapman an email. I think its the same issue with the cookies he encountered...
|
there is error with the macro I think. let me experiment with this more...
|
Hi Haozwang,
Thank you for doing this :-) I think I read Greg's post when I was searching to see if anyone else had the same problem but his issue seemed to be a bit different. Maybe I misunderstood though! I will catch up tomorrow - it is VERY late here now. Thank you again! |
okay, we made some changes. tell me if you can log in now

Hi Both,
Saw my name mentioned and just registered at Lizzie's forum (using Chrome on Android device) and sent an access request message as currently the forum requires logging in to view the forum. So far I've not encountered a Cookie Consent screen. I have also viewed the long link that takes you to the macro not found: cookie_consent_pageerror screen. I will reply to further messages in this topic once at my desktop computer.

The background to that is that on one of my forums someone made a comment about the Cookie consent screen being intrusive. I went to investigate it in the hope that I could edit it to remove some of the text that is not required under UK Law (The regulator does not require the level of detail given on the standard Nabble screen), but on that forum the the relevant macro could not be found. I never managed to resolve that issue. One question I have not seen asked in this topic is whether Lizzie has set the option to display the Cookie Consent screen (Options > Application > Extras & add-ons > Privacy) & Law) I also have just checked and believe I never set the screen on the forum about which there was a complaint. I wonder if that is part of the reason why the macro is not findable!

Hi Lizzie,
It may be worth pointing out that there is no such thing as "an account" at Nabble. All registrations are for a single forum. While it is quite possible to use the same email, user name and password on any number of different Nabble forums there is absolutely no connection between them, in the same way that you would not expect registrations using the same address or password at Amazon, eBay, Marks and Spencer or John Lewis to be linked.
