Dear Franklin,
Many thanks from the GNU Octave project
http://octave.1599824.n4.nabble.com/ that we could make use of your service for many years. It really improved our mailing-list communication a lot
John W. Eaton is the "owner" of the nabble forum and might get in touch with you as well
https://octave.discourse.group/t/nabble-forum-mailing-list-mirror/1420. I mostly care for Octaves' website etc., that is why I contact you.
We are interested in keeping those many many nabble-links we posted over the years in tact. However, regarding the described procedure, I have a few questions:
1. We cannot redirect our domain octave.org entirely to move.nabble.com (it might be not hard to guess that we use it for our software project and not only for the mailing-list). Does it mean that we need a "new" unused domain for the procedure? Do we have to use that domain "forever", thus we should not use a "temporary/bad name", e.g. "shitty-software.com" will be the permanent link in the future?
2. Do you keep you servers online and only stop copying new messages, etc., or do we have to host the data in the future?
3. Can you give a brief description how a permalink, e.g.
https://octave.1599824.n4.nabble.com/fix-for-broken-idx-vector-cc-fix-td1642391.html, will be treated in after the moving?
Thank you very much for your time and effort,
Kai
