During the night I got a message from Google Search Console, as shown at the bottom of this message, that says my page at http://forum.garysgaragemahal.com/template/NamlServlet.jtp?macro=reply& has had an error on it since June 26th. Obviously that isn't one of my web pages, and I've not changed any pages since the 26th, so I plugged that URL into my browser and got the following, which says to contact you. Help!

Raven - Thanks. I may sit tight and see if it happens again before I add that. But, I'll file it away for use then, if needed. I appreciate the support.

I'm searching for "My 4-door diesel project has a hopeless case of what Gary would call scope creep." Google doesn't find it, but Bing does. So, I fully agree. Something is amiss between Google and Nabble for embedded forums. I've done a lot a reading and haven't found a way to tell Google that my forum on Nabble's servers should be crawled. But Bing does it, so.....

And, by the way, a Yahoo search finds "My 4-door diesel project has a hopeless case of what Gary would call scope creep." So both Bing and Yahoo do find it and Google doesn't - in spite of the fact that I've asked Google many times to crawl the site, and several of those times were recently. And I've not done anything special with any of them, just proved that I own the resource.

Greg - I think that your statement is significant: As an aside to Gary and Peter: Try as I might I could not find Steem711's site with a variety of Google searches, but I came up trumps with Bing first try! https://colonialwaterbirdprogram.weebly.com/discussion.html It does suggest that Google thinks the site is embedded even if Nabble doesn't! Should I say Bing? Or, is that Bingo?

Greg - Good idea. I'll give freefind.com a try. But I do have an embedded Google site-specific search on each page of the website as well as the Nabble search on the forum. The Nabble search finds things like it should, but the Google search doesn't. So, I'll go look at freefind and potentially put it on each page in addition to the Google search. That should tell us something..........

Peter - I see what you are saying. And obviously you know far more about how Nabble works than I do. However, that doesn't explain why I can't find many things on my forum when using a Google search. Here are just a few examples, but I could go on and on and on. And note that many of these...

The plot thickens. I just did another Google search for "hopeless case of what Gary would call scope creep." Here's the one from Google, which finds the phrase only in this thread on Nabble support and not on my forum where it originated. But, for grins I just posted it on my Test Forum to see...

Houston - We are zeroing on on the problem! I did the Google search again and it found the sentence "My 4-door diesel project has a hopeless case of what Gary would call scope creep." The result of the search is below, but in order for my other findings and surmises to be seen I'll put them up...

It may be working "properly", but I can't find a lot of things via a Google search that I can find via Bing or Yahoo. So the effect is not correct.

... this is the case with all embedded forums on Nabble, we really need your help. I've been looking at the reports and have noticed a few things. First, while Google appears to have crawled the forum, it hasn't indexed it. And it is in the indexing, and not the crawling, that it catalogs the search...

Is there any news on this front? I still can't find things on my forum via Google, but both Bing and Yahoo find things easily. And, my embedded search finds things as well. Just not the most-used search engine.
