subscribing to a mail list.

I'm trying to post to a forum and it says I have to subscribe to the mailing list first. How do I do that? I tried emailing gumstix-users@lists.sourceforge.net and it just bounced.

Im a newbie, but to subscribe, just click options and click subscribe. If you want to post, it will give you a unique email to post to that would be something like ml-node+1111111-1223456789-123456@n3.nabble.com

NOT one like gumstix-users@lists.sourceforge.net...?

If you read the page at:
http://old.nabble.com/Gumstix-f22543.html
you'll see that "gumstix-users" is not a forum in the traditional sense but, indeed, a mail list that Nabble archives.

Look for the "mailing list options" link near the top of the page and it takes you to:
http://old.nabble.com/mailing_list/MailingListOptions.jtp?forum=22543

This page gives a little more information and provides a button that will take you to a page that will email the correct command to the mail list server in order to subscribe you.

The page goes on to explain how you can either continue to interact, via email, with the mail list, or turn off mail delivery, when you can then avoid being bombarded with emails and instead interact with the list via the forum interface.
