I never noticed a limit.
Next time you see the bug, take a note of:
1. the URL displayed in your browser's address bar
2. the permalink of the post from which you started reading
3. the permalink of the affefcted post, which may be different from (2) if you're using list or threaded view
4. a screen shot, if you can
5. browser and operating system versions.
