Using Sender Rewriting Scheme (SRS) to work around Sender Policy Framework (SPF) issues

pearj
Hi,

I've been having problems on some Apache mailing lists that are hosted on nabble.  Sometime in June Apache enabled SPF checks on the mail server (apparently ezmlm) which broke being able to reply to apache lists from nabble when your domain was SPF checks enabled in DNS.

See:

http://cxf.547215.n5.nabble.com/This-mailing-list-seems-broken-to-send-replies-from-Nabble-now-SEC-UNCLASSIFIED-td5745536.html#a5745590

Recently I was in communication with apache infrastructure and then said "Now what Nabble needs to do for us is to rewrite those addresses using SRS, which ezmlm supports."

Would it be possible for Nabble to do this?

Thanks,

Joel

Hi,

are there any news about this topic?

I've recently changed my registered email address to my apache counterpart, because of my SPF-filtered GMX address.
Now apache.org is also moving to SPF filtering [1].

As I prefer to use nabble (over my mailbox) to answer archived postings,
it would be cool if this option will be kept alive.

Thank you and best wishes,
Andi

This forum is for Nabble support only. I think you have posted to the wrong place.

well ... to satisfy the first posting (and also mine) Nabble would have to implement SRS,
so this is indeed a Nabble support question.
I'm not sure, if it's "nabble support only", but at least it's the right place to ask
about how to deal with this issue.

You're right! I hadn't read the posts correctly. There is a Nabble element to them, but rather more "under the bonnet"
(as a Brit like me might say) than the usual support question. I'll leave it to Pedro, or Hugo, to respond.
