Hi Israel,

I assume route217 is registered at:
http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/

I guess he has not read the forum description where it says:

Please note that you cannot post to r-devel, r-help, or r-sig-finance through Nabble. You will need to subscribe at the list homepage and post from your subscribed email address.

Re: Unable to post question

GregChapman
The forum at http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/  contaIns  number of sub-forums each of which holds an archive of posts for a separate mail list. You need to go to the mail list page for the list to which you wish to subscribe.

First click on the sub-forum link to that takes you to the archive of the individual list in which you are interested. Then, in the description at the top of that page, find the link to "the list homepage" and click on that. The lists are all run using mailman software and you find the subscribe instructions half way down the page you reach after following that link.

The R-Help forum is just a read-only archive of the posts that have been made on the list.

Subscribing to the forum will only get you a copy of new posts made on the Mailman list as they are made. As the owners of the archive have banned posting via the archive, there is little point is subscribing to it as you would expect to receive the posts via the Mailman list itself.

The policy the owners of the archive have adopted means that it is only really intended for historical research. Almost its only practical use will be to allow a new subscriber to the list to find previously asked questions and the answers they received. In other words it's only there to prevent you posting  to the list a FAQ asked many times before.
