Two groups - Two Pages - same members

André Simonyi
On my website http://www.politicalethnographyproject.org/, I created two different forums on two separate pages. I want the members joining one group to have automatically access to the second one, without me having to migrate memberships.
I tried all sorts of avenues via sub-groups, did not work. In the end, I lost one of my forums altogether.

How do I do this? Thanks
André

Make one Forum and embed the other part of it onto another page of your site.

There is no way to do exactly what André Simonyi describes - but maybe I'm misinterpreting his word "access" or maybe he's not describing what he's really after.

I believe the closest is this:
Create a sub-forum  and a "special" group which is given permissions to view that sub-forum. Then the "specials" can view and post on both parts and ordinary members will never see it. (This approach lacks the second page part, but is it really needed?)

Yes, it is possible to embed the sub-forum on a separate page, but unless it is hidden, in some way, behind a password page on a page not linked to anywhere else on the site, ordinary members will still be able to access (i.e. view) the special sub-forum. Another issue with this approach is that it will be possible to back out of the "special" sub-forum and reach the "ordinary" forum. This might become confusing to "specials" as they'll then be able to access the "ordinary" forum in two places.

I think André needs to re-state his problem in terms of permission to view and permission to post. If the two memberships are to be identical I really don't see the need for a separate page to display the "special" forum.
