Can you please add the Invite Subscriber module to my forum at:

Re: Requesting Invite Subscriber Module

I'm afraid I still see the "please request this feature in the Nabble Support forum".

It's late here. I'll report in the morning if it has taken an overnight batch process for it to kick in.

Re: Requesting Invite Subscriber Module

There's no change. It still says request the feature here.

However, following the delay in getting it installed I added alternative code that Pedro supplied a few years ago so the forum does not need the "Invite Subscriber" module any more.

Greg, can you please post the link to the Pedro's code so that we can have a look?

Re: Requesting Invite Subscriber Module

GregChapman
Apologies for the delay!

The code Pedro added was to a now deleted forum.

However, it seems I copied it to my forum at:
http://ruston-house.1088553.n5.nabble.com/template/NamlEditor$ViewFile.jtp?file=ppc:ppc.naml
where I find the "Invite subscribers" module is installed and, I believe, works but haven't tested it recently.

I must have forgotten how I did it earlier and have done a more customised install here:
http://sbc-forum.2368949.n4.nabble.com/template/NamlEditor$ViewFile.jtp?file=custom_tweak:addforcedsubscriber.naml
As you see here the "Invite Subscribers" module still needs to be authorised by Nabble.

Greg, can you please remove Pedro's code? We're going to install the module for you.

Re: Requesting Invite Subscriber Module

Unfortunately it still says:

If you want to invite subscribers, please request this feature in the Nabble Support forum. We can install this module for you, but the Nabble team must approve this request to prevent abuse and spam.

EDIT: If you take a look I do have several email-related customised macros. Could any of these others have an impact of the "Invite Subscribers" module?

Re: Requesting Invite Subscriber Module

GregChapman
Oops!

My fault! I'm getting very confused.!
I see this topic opens with a message requesting the module at:
http://bb4er.2372904.n4.nabble.com/
The "Invite subscribers" module works there - and perhaps it has since the time I first requested it.

Somewhere along the line I thought I had requested it be installed on these two as well:
http://sbc-forum.2368949.n4.nabble.com/
http://members-area.61172.n8.nabble.com/

It is those two that still need it installed. It is the first of these that has had the Pedro routine removed. The other still has it installed.

Re: Requesting Invite Subscriber Module

GregChapman
I reported a week ago that I had removed the code from:
http://sbc-forum.2368949.n4.nabble.com/

I am a little confused about the state of:
http://members-area.61172.n8.nabble.com/
I don't seem to have used the same technique to add the facility there and it is possible I have not fully removed all the macros involved. I see that some macros listed under "Customised Macros" report:

This macro is called directly from the URL or from the java code;
This macro is not used at all;

Can you please check which are non-standard.

The invite subscriber module has been added to http://sbc-forum.2368949.n4.nabble.com/ and http://members-area.61172.n8.nabble.com/ sites.

This post was updated on .
Thanks!

I confirm that I now have the right screens on both forums.

I have also worked out how I implemented the extra code on the "Members Area" forum and have removed the redundant macros.

Re: Please Activate Invite Subscribers

GregChapman
It would be easier for Nabble staff if you could post the URL of the forum.
(It helps to include the http:// as then Nabble converts it to a link.)
