Request for changes on the blog app

Jim Westergren
I have some requests for the blog app. Please take it into consideration.

- The link "Leave a comment" is better placed at the end of a blog post then at the top. It is more natural. When you have reached the end of reading something it is more natural to see a comment function or link right there instead of having to scroll up and looking for it or assuming that you cannot comment.

- As a guest visitor the "Options" just contains one link which is "Subscribe via email" and when clicking on it I come to another page in which I can enter my e-mail and subsribe. This is a great feature of the Nabble blog app. But sadly I don't think many people see it. So please remove the clutter if I am a guest reading the blog and just display the form "Enter your email address to subsribe" right there on the blog. 2 useless clicks removed.

- If the "People" just contains one person which is the author of the blog. There is no use to display it and it is just clutter. So remove it if it is just one person.

- When I click on "Feeds" on the blog I can either choose "New messages" or "New topics". I can't understand the difference and I have been working on the internet for 6 years. So instead please remove the link and make it go right to the feed containing new blog posts. Comments are not needed. And call it RSS instead of "Feeds".

That's it for the moment :)

Thanks!

This is the only point I didn't completely agree. First, our feeds are not RSS (we use the ATOM format). So calling that link RSS is not correct. Besides that, the two options available could still be useful for some users, including the blog owners. So I don't feel comfortable removing those options and forcing just one to all users. In any case, blog owners will be able to change that when we release the templates feature in a few months. For now, I've improved the wording on that page to make the options easier to understand.

Hi Hugo,

Great and thank you!

About the last point. That's ok. Now you can understand the wording. And yes, perhaps some want to get the comments as well. You are right.

Thanks again. I will actually put up a notice on our support forum and see if my users have any other requests. I will filter the noise and update here later if there is something more I deem should be corrected.
