Tried twice - and all went through - but no email instructions/conformation  came back.
Not in Spam folder either ...

I've heard that AOL has several problems related to emails. Maybe the confirmation email was delayed by AOL or filtered somehow. Please ask that user if he had problems before with his email account (e.g., registering with other services)? Maybe he can try another account just to make sure the problem is his AOL account.
