Receiving spam through Nabble

fkieviet
Hi, I'm receiving spam on our mailing list (users@open-esb.dev.java.net) from meihua [clubs999999@gmail.com].

Our list (ezml) is set up such that each new poster requires approval, i.e. being added to the allowed posters list. However, when people post through Nabble, this mechanism on ezlm is bypassed.

Can you ban the aforementioned user, and do you know a way for us to keep using Nabble while avoiding spam?

Nabble options that apply to users

At the forum level:

1. Options | Users | [•] Forbid Anonymous Users

2. Options | Users | Who can view & post? | [•] Everyone Can View, Only Authorized Can Post

The two options are not dependent upon each other, but their combined effect should approach or meet your requirements.

Questions such as this are fairly frequent, answers may deserve a place in Nabble Help.

ezml moderation of posts from selected users

If ezml but can be configured to moderate a selected user, then you may moderate the one e-mail address that's associated with Nabble.

Speed-reading ezmlm/idx Moderator's and Administrator's Manual and How message moderation works, I suspect that moderation options in ezml may be coarser than are required here.

Ban

Please await acknowledgement/advice from Nabble.

Graham
