Not all registered users are showing under 'People'.

This post was updated on .
OK.  To test that my Nabble-powered forum is working corectly, I asked two friends to register with the forum.

I told friend-1 to submit a post in one of the cattegories.  I told friend-2 not to submit anything but to just look around the forum.

Afterwards, I then logged into the forum as administrator and found that if I click on 'People', only friend-1 was showing as expected, but friend-2 was not showing.

So my question is, how can I see as administrator all people who have registered with the forum, not just those that submit posts?

It is higly probable that many new subscribers of the forum will not do anything on the first visit; they may just want to look around the forum the first time.

Can someone please answer this post

Nabble's current registration isn't specific to any forum. A registered user can post to any Nabble forum (unless it is set to accept only members), so this is why you don't see friend-2 on that page. The good news is that we are changing this code right now and we will make registration specific to forums. This should be available in one month.

OK, I think I understand the explanation, and I welcome the changes you mention in one months time...  The problem I have, however, is how do I know then who has registered with MY FORUM unless they submit a post?  For all I know, tens of visitors of my site could have registered with the forum, but if they haven't yet posted anything, I would not know this....

The changes I mentioned will address this issue. So registration will be specific to forums and you will be able to see registered users even if they haven't post anything yet.

Hugo,

Will all the people who registered at your forum automatically become a part of it?

Also - one "forum member" couldn't get the name he wanted because another Nabble user had it. Would it be possible to change that name and the posts associated with it?
HTTPS Please!

This will be true when we finish the code that makes registration app-specific. This should be available in two weeks or so.

Nabble accounts are shared at this point, so user names must be unique in the database. This will change when we release the app-specific code mentioned above. User names will be unique only for the current forum (i.e., two forums could have a user with the same name). About your question: if a user changes the user name, yes, all posts will display the new name in the author label.
