Nabble Sever Status Page ?

Camo
Just wondering if Nabble has a server status page at all?
I was thinking if Nabbles server/s ever go down, Ill have an empty page.
It would be nice if I could display A live updating server status report there
in its place.

Example

That Will be excellent Thanks Peter, just perfect, Ill add a link on the pages where I have Nabble embedded.
Is It Ok to Customise and host the page on my own server for Aesthetics? Ill make it a popup.

cheers

p.s Ill create a how to and post a tutorial here for other users 'a la' my log in code

P.S presumabley if the server is down the code will fetch some explanitory content/text from Site5 Web Hosting and display there? This is what happens when its status ok

It's just you. http://nabble-support.1.n2.nabble.com is up.

Just type in any address that does not exist and you will see the message when it's offline since it won't be able to reach the site! ;-)

This service is not ours nor from our hosting service, it's a public service. You can use it with any site.

Ok, so its a bog standard IsUp/IsDown, generic message, inelegant but it works. Unfortunately its not opensource so the workaround means popping a div containing that page and they have to add the link themselves.
No access across domains unless I can rework the code, it looks for window.location='/+domain'
aka tries to append the link to the domain its on.
Ill work on that.

Shame Your servers cant output error/management messages when its down.
Note: never come across 'downtime' yet, its rather the 'sword of domocles'
when it comes to 'hosted' solutions, terrifying thought.
Any ETA on opensource? Or Templates

P.S Assuming N5 means server #5, how many servers does Nabble run? Does a backup server come online if N5 fails? Or is there simply 'Nothing'?

LOL CIA nabble!  Are you allowed to tell us what to expect if the server goes down? Are you allowed to assure of of uptime %? Can you even garauntee you'll be running tomorrow?
What are you allowed to tell your customers exactly?
Im not asking for the goddammed Recipe for coke or pepsie or the 11 secret herbs & spices mate!
Id like to be assured my nabble apps are stable and that I can ensure they continue to exist, thats not a big ask.
Having lost 4yrs of work because a similar hosted solution 'shut it doors' suddenly, deleting thousands of forums one morning, I WANT TO KNOW , just a ballpark.
Downloading archives that last a few days dosent cut it for reassurance either.

I understand your concern with uptime.
I'm sure we will be here tomorrow. Our numbers show that, in fact, we are growing steadily.

About our uptime, it's very nice... our deploy time is less than 1 minute so our maintenances are very quick.
We have a hot standby backup which should answer in the case of a server failure with the most up-to-date data.

And we have another backup very far away from the servers which is 2 days old at most just to prevent data loss in case of an environmental disaster in the country where the servers are located - we hope we will never have to use this one.
