Nabble 1 finished?

Gale (Audacity Team)
Hi it seems I am now redirected to Nabble 2 and my Nabble 1 Forums deleted? I did not ask for that, but still am I right it saves everyone resubscribing?  Anyway, I was wondering when the ability to receive and post messages will be added (I thought this was imminent a while ago). Thanks.

Yes. It's all migrated to http://n2.nabble.com/Audacity-f238276.html

The old nabble1 actually still exist. They just all redirect to the corresponding nodes on nabble2. So, your old links will still work, as they just redirect to the correct nodes on nabble2.

Your users will need to register again with n2.nabble.com if they want to post, but they don't need to resubscribe to the mailing list if they are already subscribed. I think you did ask and my answer was the same.

You mean the mailing list feature where a user can subscribe to a forum and receive and reply all posts as emails? It's still in the making. I can't promise anything but I think it will be out soon, like in a month or so.

Hi Will

Yes I did mean the ability to receive/reply all posts as e-mails (I hope this does come to fruition as it will help forum owners whose mailing lists are flaky - Sourceforge's lists are prone to this).

I am still slightly confused as I replied to posts on Nabble 2 without re-registering, hence my supposition that no re-registration was needed.

One query please. What CSS element do I need to change to change th colour of the Forum name top left when you view any forum? I thought when I changed it on Nabble 1 that H1, H2 covered it, but it seems not.

Thanks

This feature will come out in about 2 weeks.

By default, a nabble public forum allows anonymous posting. So, for your first post, you probably posted with your user name but without registering. When you register later, your previous posts get assigned to your registered account (we use cookie to track the user, so as long as you are on the same machine, this will work).

Note that mailing list archive doesn't allow anonymous posting. So, in a mailing list archive, a user will have to register to confirm a valid email address before they can post.

Good point. It's been fixed, and will be available in the next release. Please check back in a day or two, and it should be there.

Hi Will

So re-registering to a forum without an attached mailing list archive is basically cosmetic? My account says registered June 16 (when I registered with Nabble 1) and I can see no way to re-register without creating a new account and new user name - is that what you mean by re-registering? Thanks for your other answers, looking forward to those.

Now you can use the "forum-title" CSS id. Example:
#forum-title { color: blue; }
