1. prefer threaded view

2. visit <http://n2.nabble.com/The-buildout-discussion-%28was-%22upgrade-instructions...%22%29-tp2305721p2305721.html>

3. use the browser to find the word basket

4. click the found message.

Bug

At step 3: the majority of messages shift out of sight, can not be scrolled into sight.

Firefox does not present found text

Using Firefox 3.0.9 in lieu of Safari, the symtpoms are different; when Firefox finds the text it scrolls down but fails to present its finding.

Bug is not limited to threaded view.

1. using Safari 4 Public Beta (5528.16), prefer List view for Nabble

2. visit <http://n2.nabble.com/The-buildout-discussion-%28was-%22upgrade-instructions...%22%29-tp2305721p2305721.html

3. (command-F) find very mainstream

4. expand the found message

Again, at steps 3 and 4 the message is unreadable (out of sight).

Bugged

Embedded Nabble content in fixed-width plone.org in at least the following browsers:

• Chrome
• OmniWeb 5.9.1
• Safari 4 Public Beta (5528.16)
• WebKit nightly r42858 (25 April 2009).

Not bugged

Nabble UI, non-embedded, e.g.

• at <http://n2.nabble.com/-tt530159.html#none> or <http://n2.nabble.com/-tc530159.html#none> find easy task

• at <http://n2.nabble.com/-tt2306610.html#none> or <http://n2.nabble.com/-tc2306610.html#none> find other bloggers

three of five exemplars bugged

Graham Perrin
Comparison

Taking the four other exemplars from <http://www.nabble.com/help/Answer.jtp?id=36>,

1. at <http://n2.nabble.com/-tp2615889p2615889.html> find better than then expand

— screen shot better+than.pdf

2. at <http://n2.nabble.com/-tp2689244p2689244.html> find best to start then expand

— screen shot best+to+start.pdf

3. at <http://n2.nabble.com/-tp2653763p2653763.html> find results then expand

— screen shot results.pdf

4. at <http://n2.nabble.com/-tp2506023p2506023.html> find best of luck then expand

— screen shot best+of+luck.pdf

Workarounds

For fixed width examples 1 and 4:

• I find no workaround.

For semi-elastic example 2, and for elastic example 3:

• a stretch of the window, in a suitably wide display, should reveal the content
