I don't have an iPod to test this. Can you reproduce this issue with any good browser?

Hey I just wanted to chime in here since its the first discussion I've seen based on mobile devices:

unfortunately I for Arrow I have NO experience with the apple devices and Nabble, but I DO use a droid device (I use an Eris and I've tested with the moto Droid, the Droid X, and the Nexus One) and it renders beautifully.

In fact, when the forum is NOT running in embedded mode its quite fast.  I have my forum embedded in a wordpress page so there is a little bit of rendering overhead but even on the Eris its quite usable.  I have looked at several options for making my forums more smartphone friendly and I continue to evaluate solutions to that end.  Here are a couple for those interested in the same:

I have found that using Google Reader to pull the Nabble forum app RSS feed is quite handy.  Its visually clean , extremely lean and lightwight, and fast.  The only downfall is that in order to respond to a forum message you end up being directed into the forum app anyway which in my case (embedded) means the user must render my entire web site anyway.

I have used Mippin (http://www.mippin.com) which is really just a glorified RSS reader.  I like that you can brand it for single use, but there is no control over how often the RSS feed gets read so its not exactly a real-time experience which is what I want for a smartphone app.  The nice thing here is that no one needs to render the web site and it runs on a ton of devices.  I'll revisit these guys when their App Builder goes live this year.

I want to bring up an idea though.  Hugo (or anyone else for that matter)... have you looked at incorporating Tapatalk into the Nabble forums?  http://www.tapatalk.com/api/api.php

Tapatalk already supports phpBB3 3.0.x, vBulletin 3.7.x/3.8.x/4.x, Invision Power Board (IPB) 3.x and Simple Machine Forum (SMF) 1.1.11+/2.x.  I don't know what the API looks like or how much work this would actually entail, but having a browser-independent real-time smart phone app with deep forum interactivity would be ideal.

thats it from me.  looking forward to any comments!
