Invite Members to Blog I added to my Forum Site

jmac
Good morning ,

I just added your Blog to my site, it is a Forum for Mental Health & Wellness support. @ www.mentalhealthsupportcommunity.com.

May you please help me either "invite" or have a "Register Button" my members can click and do the option of creating one on their own. I. think it would be easier if possible o worry or problem if not if they could register themselves instead of me inviting them. That way when new members join I don't have to go back to the Blog and add them, but if it is not available that way it okay, I really like the format and etc. I have been to other sites that offer adding a Blog to a Forum and I must say this is pretty much stands out among them all I have seen....

Okay Thank you and God Bless,
Jan

Re: Invite Members to Blog I added to my Forum Site

Good morning,

Thank you for your timely response. I have approved and you are now a member.

Yes, I am using your Blog, I just wanted to create a unique title for the page. If that is a problem please let me know, no worries, I can just change it to what you tell me to set it up properly.

I have sent a private message on my Forum to you and explained etc. what I am confused about, and what I need help with, and what I need to do?

I appreciate your support!

And if I need to make you an Amin. so you can see how the set up is on my Forum / Site from the company I use, Pro Boards....

God Bless & have a good day,
Jan

PS / Hope this make sense, as I explained in my message to you on my Forum why I need the help, and why  I am easily confused, not very Tech Savey to begin with either.

I paid, and had  a Web Developer do all that needed to be done on adding  new features as well as maintaining my site for many, many years.....

Please,  if you don't mind message me back though my Forum if it is not too much trouble so I can have easy access to my Admin. panel while you tell me how, and what needs to be done?

Re: Invite Members to Blog I added to my Forum Site

haozwang<Nabble>
okay,
1. we can enable the "invite subscribers" function manually, you can just give us the URL to your blog

2. to enable members to have their own blog, assuming that they are few in number, you can just create subcategory in the existing blog. Have the group options to have the permission to post in the "sub blog" specific for the member

3. if you don't want to have all the manual control and have large number of members wanting to blog, the only thing I can think of is just to have their own nabble blog, which is easy to set up

Is my suggestion adequate?

Here is the url to the Blog below.

http://mentalhealthsupportcommunity.com/page/members-blog-spot
I️ am on my cell phone. Sorry for the late reply. Recovering from back procedure. Yes I️ want each member to be able to create their own personal Blog. Just want to make sure they can’t make changes to the theme and setting. Just to be able to have their own blog. Hope that makes sense.

I️ did what you said. I’m not very tech savey.

May you please when you have time of course to set it so when members click the blog name in the Menu bar and when they get to the blogs page  is there any way for their to be a button or what have you to say for example start Topic or Create blog?

God Bless have a good day and thank you for your time.
Jan.

haozwang<Nabble>
well, by my suggestion above, you'll have to start the sub-blogs of the members manually so they can post on it

it says I don't have permission to view the page. I don't need the actual page you are embedding on it just the nabble url

This post was updated on .
*I quoted "Your Reply" is Below*

(("it says I don't have permission to view the page. I don't need the actual page you are embedding on it just the nabble url"))

Url /  is this what you meant Above in your Reply?

 http://mentalhealthsupportcommunity.com/page/members-blog-spot

May you please tell me. "Step by Step" how allow members *access* to "view" the Blog and also be able to "create" their own Blog,, and be able o "post" to it once created?

I am not very tech savey,   and I have ADHD Academid Deficit Disorder, I have trouble understanding, but if you give me a detailed list step by step of what and how to set the settings, or permissions to do the above....

PS/ Again if you have the time that is, may you please set this up for me? I can give you access as a Admin... just to do the Blog? I want the Members / Friends to be able to do what I said above?

If not no problem, I understand you must busy etc.. I need to read your rules or what have you? I use to have a Web Developer a couple of years ago, I paid him yearly, but he stopped his personal services because he found a company to work for and he no longer has his side business,  so even though I have had this site / Forum I created it took a while but with the Support of Pro Boards I was able to do it.

With their step by step support. And quite a few times going into the Admin, if I was struggling and handle it for me, but again no worries or problem if you don't have the time to do so?

I appreciate your time, thank you and
God Bless

Like Haozwang, I see no evidence of a Nabble hosted application on your site.

I have searched the source code of all pages accessible tounregistered users for "nabble.com" and the term does not seem to exist.

It is impossible to help unless you provide the URL of your Nabble blog. Giving the address of the Blog-spot page in which is supposed to be embedded is not sufficient.

Thank you for your patience :

Good morning,

I would like to do #2 of your "reply" Above that I quoted....

Here is what I want to do if I cant no worries and thanks for your time =D

Goodness I am such a pain, I can just imagine, okay I just logged into my Forum under my test member "jan4jam" I was able to Create my own Blog, but my question is " How do I make it so the Members can "not" change the appearance, settings etc.

When I was logged in as my test member( jan4jam ) I saw after I clicked the *Blog on the  Menu Tab  / Under the Name I created title Name  "Members Blog Spot"

I saw the *Options* drop down I can be wrong but that is what  I mean I just don't want members to be able to change settings etc.. like the structure, Applications, Embeded, etc.

Hope that makes sense. My sincere apologies for my confusion, I am trying very hard with this....

Thank you,
Have a good day....

Jan

PS/ Maybe since you are a Member, may you please, when you have the time create a Blog for yourself ,and let me know when you have the time, if it is all set right, and that nobody has access to the (*"settings such as the Blogs appearance, structure, etc. and as well. as the Admin. Permissions...."*)

I want them to have permissions just to  Create a Blog Topic Name of their own, for their own personal use, change / Edit, Delete,  things pertaining to their  Blog Postings, writings is that possible?

Re: Invite Members to Blog I added to my Forum Site

I repeat...  There is no Nabble blog embedded at:
http://mentalhealthsupportcommunity.com/page/members-blog-spot

Why do you ask for support at Nabble? This appears to be a forum/blog you maintain at blog-spot.

If you really do have a Nabble based forum/blog, then you need to sort out the error that appears at the link above (something you need help at blog-spot with) and you need to post the URL of the Nabble blog here.

Jan's Reply Below:

Good morning,

Okay. I. will just figure it out no worries , Yes I got the Blog App through Nabble, I just ""changed"" the Name from ""Blog"" to make it more *unique*, I changed the Name from *Blog* to simply *Members Blog Spot* it is still from Nabble, I wouldnt come to you here if it wasn't....

My apologies for the confusion, but again I just named it different instead of just having Blog....

Thank you and have a good day,
LoL Jan

PS/ You may "close" the Support request. Thank you all for your patience and God Bless !

Re: Invite Members to Blog I added to my Forum Site

jmac
Good morning and thanks Haozwang,

May you please let me know how to do what I said in my post yesterday I want my members / friends to be able to Edit, Delete or what  you,  meaning what permissions they can have, only to their own topic?

My concern is them having the Options to change the Lay out etc.. "structure" I think you call it?

I just want them to have permission to I guess since it is a Forum not a Blog, which is okay, I really like this set up, is their a way to let them have permissions,  but only to change etc their own "blog" "Forum Topic" and only that?

Thank you again, since this is a Forum and I am sure the permissions are probably different from that of a Blog, no worries, if the above is not possible.

Have great day,
Jan

Re: Invite Members to Blog I added to my Forum Site

haozwang<Nabble>
for starters, you should create a nabble BLOG instead of a forum. you'll see what I'm talking about
