If you need more than an email address and username from your users then it would be best to collect those details on your main web site and embed your Nabble forum within a "members area" on your site that is only accessible to those who have provided the necessary details.
Doing things that way your Nabble forum could then be left in its default state which is completely open for viewing and posting.
Combining data collection with Nabble sign-up complicates things and would require significant coding in NAML.
