What do you mean by removing a user?  Do you mean removing their posts/comments?

Re: Harvey's Questions

I did a dumb thing.

As a test I copied a registered users from our forum's email address and pasted it into our newspaper to see if I could register him.  Now that email is an unathenticated user.

That person is very likely to want to join our new newspaper, so I want to undo what I have done without banning him.

Also Hugo's avatar is in out newspaper. That is fine - it's very cool, but I like it to have an avatar, or if not, then be removed.

Title tags:

I know I will be able to edit title tags when templates comes around.

Until then I would consider it a huge favor it you guys could remove the  word Nabble from my title tags in my forum:

and also remove the word "newspaper" from my title tag in my newspaper. For some reason the newspaper adds the word newspaper to the end of the title tag while the forum doesn't do that:

Possible?

We are about to release a fix for that bug you reported here:
http://nabble-support.1.n2.nabble.com/Show-Groups-Newspaper-tp5616783p5616783.html

So you will be able to hide any users you want from that people widget.
Is this good enough for your case?

I'm wondering - what happens if the guy who owns the email address tries to register when his email address is already associated with an unautheniticated user?

Are there limits on the number of posts in a forum thread?

Is it possible to move my questions from the free forum to the paid forum?

I think this question has been asked, and answered somewhere, but I dont really understand the answer.

Our newspaper entries take a few days to put together. I'd like to hide them from view COMPLETELY until they are ready.

What we have done is created a subcategory that only authors can access.  We can get the entry off the top of the home page by giving it an old date.

But is there anyway to hide it completely until it is ready to be seen?  No image and teaser copy on the top level?

That account will become "registered". This is different from "authenticated". Here is the a better definition:

Authenticated = Nabble knows the email of the user.
Registered = Nabble knows the email of the user, and the user finished the registration process.

In other words:
Registered = Authenticated + Registration-Date

1000 posts. We set this limit because the post pages become slow when the number of posts is too high.

Yes. You can open those messages and click on "More > Move post to..." and then paste the URL of the paid forum.

Ok so it sounds like that won't be a problem. I guess I should unban the user.

He's still going to be wierded out when he sees himself there.

Here is what you can do:
1 - Create an independent Newspaper or any app from our homepage.
2 - Write your posts on that app until it is ready.
3 - Move the post to your official Newspaper. To do this, open the post and click on "Options > Move topic to..." and paste the URL of your official newspaper.

Re: Harvey's Questions

That's a really cool idea.

One time I tried to move a post from the magazine to the forum - and it gave me a message that seemed to indicate that it would take a long time to move it?

It's really no sweat?

Since you are not moving too much stuff, it should be really fast. Only big archives (e.g., > 10,000 topics) take a long time. So don't worry about that message because you won't see any delay.

The fix has been released. You can see that the "People" widget on the side bar is not available anymore in your magazine (because you unchecked all groups for the show_group_members permission). If you set some groups in that row, the people widget will show up again.

So now you can hide some users from the front page. To do this, create a "hidden" group (Options > Users > Manage users & groups) and add those two accounts you want to hide. Then make sure that that group doesn't have the "show_group_members" permission in the "Change permissions" page. Please let me know if you have questions.

1000 is enough thanks!  I have one thread that runs about 500 over the course of a year and then is replaced on an annual basis.

Thanks. I think this is going to be very helpful for SEO.

I notice that even though I redirect all visits to the embed, the search engines pick up the title tags for the unembedded posts.

I have a very specific way I want to do my tags, but I realize that that kind of stuff might not be how you imagine premium support working.

If you are willing to take precise instructions on how I want my tags let me know and I will post it or PM you. Otherwise I will wait until I can edit them myself.

One oddity - at the top level of my forum I get this:

the name of the top level twice.  Not a biggie.

Thanks for everything. And let me know if there is anyway I can help you guys.

If you really need this for now, we can try to give you a custom solution, but certainly templates will be best for your case. So think about this and let us know if you want to wait a few more months or if you want some customizations for now.
