Hi,
Sorry, I cant help you. I lost my forum too. Were you succeeded in restoring your forum? I just would like
to ask you how did you done, if you done.

Thank you for your answer in advance.

If you have a backup saved by Nabble (Options > Download archives), then we can restore it.

When I go to Download archives, it tells me that Nabble backs up servers every day. (?)

How often do you recommend we back up? Is it really necessary?

Yes, but we backup the full database. So we can't restore a single forum out of it. Such backups are used only if the server crashes.

It is not necessary. As explained above, we can restore servers if they crash, but not forums (and other apps) that got deleted by users or by our garbage collection process. So if your forum is visited often and/or you read emails weekly, everything should be ok for you (unless you have added a crazy administrator that likes the delete button).

The original goal of the XML backup is that users should have an option to leave Nabble and move their contents to another system. We just try to be as good as possible to our users.

Thanks for the clarification.

I haven't had the courage to try this....

Do you get a big in your face warning when you push the "delete the forum" button?

When you click on the "Options > Delete this forum" menu, you will go to a page with the warning. That's the last warning you will see. If you click on the button on that page, everything will be deleted. You may create a dummy forum just to try this ;-)

I'll take your word for it.  ;0  I've had a few moments when I wanted to change the dates on some newspapers articles and for a very short period of time, made other authors admins ...rolling the dice...

Makes me nervous!

Plus I'm sure the garbage man has enough to do...
