BUG: Wide/Narrow feature not sticking

GregChapman
Hi Franklin,

You may recall an earlier topic:
http://support.nabble.com/News-App-Smart-Pages-tp7598202p7598248.html
where I reported that a couple of my NEWS apps, although set to "Narrow" were intermittently appearing in WIDE format, i.e. with a sidebar.

Today I have been re-visiting:
http://ruston-house.1088553.n5.nabble.com/
a forum I have let slide for most of the last 18 months. I opened it to see it was displayed WIDE, I checked the setting which said it should be NARROW.

I tried changing the setting and changing it back, but it stays resolutely wide.
Can you get it to display without the sidebar?

You had a reference to obsolete ad code in your custom NAML, so all customization was broken.  I removed that reference.

Hi Franklin,

Thanks for that! The NAML code may well have been something introduced by Pedro.

"Ruston House" was once combined with "Ruston Reaches" and the forum was being used as a test bed by Pedro for having a single forum with linked but separate member lists (so people did not need to register separately for closely related forums. Most of the complexities came from hiding the links to/at the top level so that members of one side of the forum were prevented from even being aware that the other branch existed.

That's probably where the special code came from. The original combined forum was allowed "Premium Site" status.
