I have received reports from unregistered subscribers to one of my forums that they now get digest emails reporting 0 posts today, when they used to get notification of posts in the area to which they are subscribed. It seems this started when the distinction between non-registered and registered users was blurred.
It also seems that I no longer get email notification of new registrations, after such subscribers register.
Could these be further unintended side effect of the recent change?
