BUG: Email posts not arriving via Subscription

None of the posts with the subject line:

EMail Post With Attachment

arrived via my subscription at the root level, although the one posted directly on the forum did.

Can you investigate why that might be. These were test posts to see if it would work on another forum of mine. I even tried adding a subscription at the same level and it still didn't work.

I did wonder if the bug was related to some of my customisations on GregHelp, but you'll find that there are two posts at:

with the Subject line "Bulletin - 27 May 2018".

The one posted on the forum at 9:37pm arrived at my subscriber address whereas the one posted via email at 9:33pm did not.

Hi Israel,

I've upgraded your registration on GregHelp (Nice Avatar! ) to Administrator, so you should now have the ability to post. in the sub-forum:

where I made my test posts. To reproduce the issue:

1. Subscribe at the top level of the forum
2. Visit the sub-forum linked above then select - Options > Post by email - to discover the email address to use.
3. Using email, post a simple message that includes an attached file.
4. Post a similar message directly on the forum.

You'll find the post emailed at Step #3 is not despatched to your subscription address, while the message posted directly on the forum at Step #4 is.

As earlier reported this appears to be a more general problem as it also affects my forum at:

Not only are these forums on different servers there is remarkably little overlap in customised macros.

Correction!

Just tried an email post without attachment to the "Testing Sub Forum" and while the post appeared on the forum It has not been posted back to me as part of my subscription.

A thought has just occurred to me that takes me back to Hugo's days and this six year old topic:

I happen to use Gmail addresses for both these forums and it is quite possible that I forgot to add the mod that Hugo suggested to overcome the issue.

I do not use Gmail address on other forums where I know it is working so this may be the issue.

I'll test over the next few days and report back!

That seems to have cracked it! I had completely forgotten about this issue.

I now realise that it's only on my more recently created forums where the problem exists. That's because I installed the revised macro on all my older forums years ago and had forgotten about the issue.

I have added an explanatory post on my GregHelp forum, with details the revised macro that solves it.

Are you saying I should remove the macro over-rides I have installed on my various forums and check if it works without them?

There is no need to remove the "Macros" installed.

In that case I'm not sure I can test as all those forums where I regularly post via email have Hugo's fix installed so is working for me already.
