It's almost been a week since we're up and down. I pay to use Nabble and I have a scrappy service. As far as I understand, N5 seems to be the problem so, can I move my forum to another server ?

Ideally, I would like to have it on the same server as this forum. Contrary to my forum, it seems to work perfectly!!!

Same for us. Paying Nabble and very unstable service since Aug 16 or so.
We got those problems : ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED, HTTP 500, nice Nabble web page with 500 like message "Overcapacity", now our forum is so slow that it's unusable.

Would it a kind of cyber attack ?

In reply to this post by jsmoraes
Usually I see message with a kind of:

HTTP ERROR: 503

Problem accessing /Observatorio-de-Vilatur-f91.html. Reason:

    too many active connections

Would have in n5 server a kind of malware forum ? Hugo says the n5 server is now a new machine, but with the same group of forums.  And the problem is only with n5 server ! "

"Too many active connections" ...  I already heared it, against Microsoft, AOL ...

Am I paranoid ?

I don think Nabble are helping themselves here, with so little communication.

Presumably anyone setting up a forum at the moment has the same problem ,given up, and gone elsewhere.

Why can't they just come on here and post update, at least daily?

The way Nabble is handling the "crisis", it clearly shows that Nabble is way over their head with this problem.

Never seen an IT company not being able to solve a crucial problem after so much time. As far as communication goes, I am still debating if "minimal" is a good qualificative...

At least, they should supply us a way to get us our archives so we could move elsewhere cleanly.

We have a new server now and the service seems to be stable again. Please let us know if you guys have any issues. We apologize for the issues in the last days.

http://forum.openscad.org/ seems to be working again, except:
-  posts are still flagged "This post has NOT been accepted by the mailing list yet. " where the message has been thru the mailing-list and received to my inbox. Example http://forum.openscad.org/What-has-gone-wrong-with-the-forum-td18210.html#a18211 (I presume this flag is controlled by nabble receiving the post back via the mailing-list - so is caused by the following)
- mailing-lists originated posts are not making it to the forum.

I checked the Mailing List Archive Settings and http://forum.openscad.org/mailing_list/SubscribeToMailingList.jtp which shows the subscription address "lists+s...31@n5.nabble.com", that address is subscribed to the mailing-list.

There is some problem with incoming emails...

I am still having problems searching for members - it just hangs (browser circle going round and round) and never returns any results.  forum.sudsol.org - let me know if you need access to my password protected site.  My site requires I move members into a member only group and I've been unable to do that since Sunday.
Thanks,
Coleen

The server is still recovering, building caches and importing old emails. Please give it a few days to fully recover and things should improve.

Your forum loads fine for me. You can try a different browser or computer.

8 hours or so later, still painfully slow.

If you can actually get on to post anything, takes for ever to appear.

I have a very active group with members joining each day.  It's been almost a week since I've been able to process ANY memberships since I can't search for an email address under People (it just hangs).

I can understand with emails still being imported, searching for posts, might not work.  But searching for users?  We're only talking about searching my user list and that's less than 1,000 email addresses.  Seems that shouldn't tax the system significantly to not get any results.   (Although I have once or twice been able to successfully search for myself)

Is more going on here?
I do have a customization to people.naml that Pedro did a few years ago which adds a tab to search people:

Is there something in those macros that is inefficient that is causing it to take so long and time out?  I've not had problems with it taking long prior to the N5 server issues.

Thanks,

On my forum, digests have not been issued since 8/20.  Now that things are moved over, can you check why digests aren't going out?

Two days in,and still not loading at normal speed.

Not my connection either, my users from different parts of Europe say the same.

So what is the answer please?
